The Billets are reheated at a temperature ranging from 1150 to 1200 degrees centigrade and the re bars entering TMX system at 950-to-1000 degree centigrade quenches in a high-pressure water flow and passed through nozzles at certain velocity to attain Mechanical properties as per standard. During this quenched and self-tempered (QST) process, the outer layer of the bar becomes hard in technical terms, a martensitic structure, this then moves to the cooling bed there where the natural cooling happens. Essentially this process gives the bars a better bend capability with a hard outer shell for higher strength. The unit is always looking for new technologies to improve quality aspect of our bars as it aligns with one of our core principles of strength.
